Anxiety disorder comes in many forms,
and one of the more common ones is general anxiety disorder or otherwise known
as GAD. As with the name, the sufferer will worry about everything in general
irregardless of how minute the matter is. Granted that we do worry about issues
every once in a while but we forget about what we worry in a few days time.
In a situation where the signs of
danger is absolutely absent and any signs of impending danger is non-existent at
all. Even in this type of scenarios, a
generalized anxiety disorder or GAD
sufferer will almost certainly worry about the possible coming of a disaster.
This is the level of hypertension and exaggerated level of fear and worry that a
sufferer is subjecting to. These exaggerated level of worrying may be hard to
overcome as it is rather difficult for one to clearly identify the root causes
of these attacks.
Some of the more common physical signs of
general anxiety disorder are a lack of concentration, feelings of irritation,
tensions, excessive tiredness or lethargic feelings, disturbed sleeping patterns
and so on. However, these signs must be present for a minimum of 6 months before
one can determine for sure that one is indeed suffering from general anxiety
disorder.
One
who is a sufferer of general anxiety disorder may also worry about the lack of
panic attacks, social phobia, separation anxiety, and obsessive compulsive
disorder and so on. He or she may even gain a large amount of weight as a result
of the suffering. These are perhaps the early warning symptoms of GAD. Other types of
generalized anxiety disorder symptoms are excessive amounts of anxiety and
worry. These feelings can persist for many days up to a few months. The chronic
anxiety and worry can occur due to any event or activity that you will be
participating in. These feelings of worry are difficult to control for the GAD
sufferer.
But in order for one to properly determine the actual occurrence of
general anxiety disorder, the symptoms has to last for at least a few days
within a time frame of 6 months. Upon these observation, only then can one be
sure of actually being suffering from general anxiety disorder and only then
proper medication can be prescribed by the doctor to treat this mental disorder.
After recognizing the
symptoms of general anxiety disorder as listed above, seek help from a
professional medical practitioner so that you may live a healthy and fulfilling
life free from worrying about the slightest things in life.
